1. Who we are
This website, mauritiuslifereset.com (“Mauritius Life Reset”, “we”, “us”), is operated by Neetusha Gheenah (sole trader), based in Mauritius. We run a wellness retreat, and this website lets you learn about it and apply to attend.
Contact: mauritiuslifereset@gmail.com
2. What data we collect
When you complete the Reserve application form, we collect the information you provide:
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number, country of residence.
- About you: age group, occupation.
- Your retreat preferences: what inspires your travel, your primary motivation, accommodation preference, and whether anyone is joining you.
- Health, dietary and wellbeing information: diet, food allergies or preferences, the activities you are comfortable with, yoga experience, readiness, and any medical conditions you choose to share.
- Consent records: which consents you gave, and when.
If you consent to analytics, we also collect basic usage data (such as pages visited and general device/browser information) through Firebase Analytics — see section 8.
3. Why we use your data
- To assess and respond to your retreat application.
- To plan a safe and suitable retreat for you.
- To arrange accommodation, meals, activities and guest support in Mauritius.
- To manage your booking — we email you retreat dates, pricing, and payment instructions; bookings are confirmed on full payment by bank transfer. No payment is taken on this website.
- To meet legal and administrative obligations.
We do not send marketing or newsletter emails.
4. Health and dietary information
Some of your answers may include health, dietary or wellbeing information. We use this only to assess your suitability and plan a safe retreat for you. We rely on your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time by contacting mauritiuslifereset@gmail.com.
5. Who receives your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Google — as our website host (Firebase Hosting), our application database (Firestore), our email account (Gmail), and, with your consent, website analytics (Firebase Analytics).
- Web3Forms — the service that sends us a short email to alert us that an application has arrived. It receives only your name, your country of residence, and the time you applied. It never receives your health, dietary or medical information, and it never receives your questionnaire answers — those are stored only in our database (see section 6).
- Retreat staff and service providers (for example, accommodation), only where needed to arrange your stay in Mauritius.
There is no payment provider — payment is by bank transfer, arranged directly with you.
6. Where your data is stored
Your application is stored in Google Firestore in the European Union (region europe-west1). Your answers — including anything you tell us about your health, diet or medical conditions — are held only there, and are read through a password-protected administration page.
We are alerted to a new application by a short email that carries only your name, your country of residence and the time you applied. That email is sent through Web3Forms and lands in our Gmail (Google) account. Your questionnaire answers are deliberately left out of it.
This means your data is stored outside Mauritius, on Google infrastructure. We rely on your consent and on Google’s and Web3Forms’ own data-protection safeguards for this international transfer.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep your application data — including health and dietary information — for 6 months, then delete it.
8. Cookies and analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. It sets cookies/identifiers, so we ask for your consent through a cookie banner before it runs — analytics stays off until you accept, and you can decline or change your choice at any time. Essential cookies needed for the site to work do not require consent.
9. Your rights
You can contact us at mauritiuslifereset@gmail.com to:
- access the data we hold about you;
- correct it;
- request its deletion;
- withdraw your consent (including for analytics); or
- ask a question or make a complaint.
You may also complain to the Data Protection Office of Mauritius (https://dataprotection.govmu.org). If you are in the EU/UK, you have similar rights and may complain to your local data-protection authority.
10. Security
Access to your data is limited to the people who need it to handle your application and retreat. Application records in Firestore are readable only by the authenticated administrator. Data is stored securely and protected by appropriate technical and organisational measures.
